The Tashan of The Vishal and The Shekhar
Okay, so who thought that the Bhojpuri songs could end up being the most stylish songs of the year???
Well, think again. The Yash Raj Philms have made impossible, the Possible... yes, The Dil Dance Maare is the most happening song of the time... The people are just going the crazy over this song. it is a very mast and phantastic songva. It tells you the mood of the film very beautiphully.
The other song, Dil Haara Re, which has The Saif Ali Khan and The Kareena Kapoor is also a very memorable song. The theme music of this song, which was also used in the picture hall ka trailer, is vhery appealing. also, the words like Tabadtod Naach loon are a vhery refreshing change phrom the usual Hindi philm song.
The Challiya song, in which The Kareena Kapoor is looking the gorgeous is a vhery dhaansoo song which has made everyone ghayal. Her the new look is vhery lovely.
The Falak Tak Chal song is a romantic song that reminds you of other Yash Raj songs like Chup Chup Ke phrom BnB, Bol Na Halke Halke phrom JBJ ex sectra. It is the vhery peacephul song of the album. Apna Akki Bhaiyya and Kareena ka jodi will look cool.
The Tashan Mein song also helps you to set the mood phor this philm. it is a road action philm and the song is perphect phor it.
And now some of the technical things about the song. Phirst of all. The Vishal and The Shekhar's music phor this film is vhery hatke phrom what the public has been hearing. So, they deserve the Hats Off phor it. And secondly, as The Gulzar Saab and The Javed Saab have been saying that the Hindi songs don't use too many of the words and repeat the words like the Pyaar ex sectra. This album goes beyond those of the clichés and give us some new and phersh words.
Some of the people can pheel that the songs are the meaningless and bulshit. But to those of my phriends I would like to say that the point of the song in the philm is to tell the story in the style of the philm. So just like in the Umrao Jaan, you cannot have the "Zara Zara Touch Me", similarly in the Tashan, you cannot have the "Mohe Panghat Pe Nandlal Ched Gayo Re". You have got to have some Hip songs.
'Tashan' Means Style. and this album is vhery stylish... I would call it, the most stylish album in the very long time.
Hats off to The YRF, The Vishal and The Shekhar, The Vijay Krishna Acharya, The Piyush Mishra, The Anvita Dutt Guptan, & The Kausar Munir phor this album...

The Good, The Bad and The Beautiful
Okay, so I was desperately waiting for this film and it finally released. So what did I feel about the film? Well, it’s complicated. Okay, so I was desperately waiting for this film and it finally released. So what did I feel about the film? Well, it’s complicated.
Firstly, like other reviewers, I don’t like wasting time on telling the plot. So if that’s what you are looking for it, stop reading now. Yeah, so the film begins with and old Ajay Devgan trying to woe the old Kajol. Pretty interesting, I thought. So, as they say well begun is half done and the film begins well. Now, the movie goes into the story of the cruise. And what is happening? The story could not connect with the audience. Not just me, but the whole hall felt disconnected. The jokes, the romance, it’s not working. Reason? It looks fake and planted. They have copied this part from the move, The Notebook, and it doesn’t works. We have recently seen Jab We Met and we saw how beautifully the dialogues the scenes were just like lovers behave in real life. And that worked. But here, the whole meeting of lovers did not work. Okay, so we move on and Ajay and Kajol fall in love. Then for some reason there is a nude scene… well, I just don’t understand the point of keeping it there. I mean, the guy is not some Brad Pitt who will get the female crowd to see the film. Nor is the scene helping the screenplay. So, film moves on, and it starts picking up pace. People start feeling connected to the film and from the Jee Le song onwards, it’s good. And as soon the interval comes and Kajol starts forgetting things, you are hooked on to the story. The major strength of the first half is the fact that you cannot connect the old and the young Kajol and Ajay, and that keeps you hooked.
Then the second half begins and from now on, the film is simply beautiful. There are moments in it that simply stun you, and I mean it in a good way. Like the scene where Kajol puts the baby in the tub, or the title song. It’s simply amazing.
As far as the cinematography is concerned, the look of the film is good. The lighting is quiet impressive, specially in the Dhakda song. The film could have been edited some more. Specially in the cruise part. Costumes make the characters more believable. And the set decoration brings a reality to the story. The sound of the film helps the story without drawing much attention towards itself. That’s how any technical aspect in a story like this should be.
Now, the acting by Ajay, Kajol is fantastic. But then, when it’s them, you don’t expect anything less than fantastic. But the surprise package were Sumit and Divya. They were really good in the film. Isha Sharvani didn’t had too much to do. The music of the film is really good. It may not be a chartbuster, the words mean a lot and that’s a big thing. Specially the title song. I missed Shreya’s version of the title song, but never mind.
And finally, Ajay Devgan’s direction is good. He is a sensitive director from whom we can expect a lot in the future. He is specially good with emotional scenes.
So, all in all, U Me aur Hum is Good in the beginning and pre-interval scenes. Bad in the early cruse portion and beautiful in the second half.
Rating - ***1/2

Moaning for More
There are some works of art that stay with you forever, The Vagina Monologues is not one of them. It is one of those that become a part of your life forever.
My friend told me that there was this play called The Vagina Monologues and it's brilliant... there was a show at Inorbit Mall, Mumbai... I said I’ll come and today, I thank my angels that I said yes... It was the best play I had seen ever...
The Play is a one and a half hour play about, well, what else, the Vagina... it's about four women (at least when I saw there were only four) talking... about Vagina and from the point of view of Vagina.
The four women are Avantika Akerkar, Jayati Bhatia, Sonali Sachdev, and Mahabanoo Mody-Kotwal, who also happens to be the producer of the show. All four are just awesome. The best part of them is the way they change not just their expression, but their whole body language in the wink of an eye. in a film, you have a cut. Here you don't but u needs to become another character whose story you are telling. That you can learn by the performances of these women. They are so effortless in what they do it's just brilliant.
The performances are so good also because the script is so brilliant. This play had everything. There were times when you would laugh as you have never done before, and at times you will have to sit and think about how it is to be a woman.
Let me take instances from the play and comment on them. First, the Parsi woman. Mahabano Kotwal plays an old Parsi woman who is shy to talk about her Vagina. What starts as a funny confrontation slowly turns on a serious issue of cancer. Watch it for how the script becomes from something to something totally different so smoothly and for the sensitive performance.
Then there was a segment where Avantika performed pages from the diary of a girl... she started as a child turns to a girl of about seven, then to nine, and so on… it’s deals with child rape and lesbianism… very well written but the script is raised to a completely different level by the OSCAR deserving performance by Avantika. When she is a child, her speech pattern, body language, everything is so right… brilliant.
There was also a segment where they spoke about Genital Mutilation. It was heart wrenching and yet funny at the same time. The segment where the women say what vagina is called in different countries is hilarious.
The was also a part where Sonali played a Marathi woman talking about her first time. It was very cute and romantic. But again it was something that became from very good to fantastic by sheer magic of performance.
And now, my favorite part… the MOANING… u will not laugh but guffaw… Jayati proved that she is an absolutely FANTASTIC performer. It was about how for pleasure she became a lesbian prostitute. The way she enacted the moans left the audience in splits. I don’t have words to tell how great it was.
In short this show is about four women sitting and speaking for an hour and a half, by the end of which you will be moaning for more.

What About Cinematic Liberty???
Hey,
I have been wondering for the past few days what being an artist in india means... why is india becoming so narrow-minded that a writer doesn't even gets to write what he feels, a filmmaker cannot film his expression, a painter cannot paint his vision... why??? what happened... we used to be the most liberal country of all... Kamasutra was written in India, look at the statues in Khajuraho... they're so free and bold... that was the real india... even the condition of women was much better. they were respected and were as important as men. and now, with all these politics entering art now people can't even express themselves... look what they do to M. F. Hussain, Taslima or even Madhuri Dixit and Yash Chopra... Why?
WHY DON'T THESE PEOPLE LAEVE ART AND CINEMA ALONE???

Taare Zameen Par - The Review...
Okay, so it's the first time that Amir Khan is Directing a Film. Everyone has huge expectations from it and the film finally releases. And what do I think about it? Well read on…
Let’s start with the backbone of the film, the story. It is the most heart-warming story of the year. This year has been really great as far as scripts are concerned. And Taare Zameen Par is the cherry on the cake. The beautifully written story is splendidly told by the amazing screenplay. There is no hurry in the screenplay. It has just the right amount pacing the story demands. Specially considering Amir is the director, one would have expected his go rush through the child’s part and make his entry much before in the film. But it doesn’t happen. He allows the story to unfold properly. And after a long time we got to see a film in which the emotions looked genuine. Also the social message given is beaiutiul. And all this happens without making the movie very preachy.
As far as the acting is concerned, Darsheel deserver all the awards that we have for ths film. He emerges as the true winner. He steels the show. And Amir is also very good, as usual. The other actors are brilliant too.
The cinematography shows some splendid use of colors but is not overpowering. And there are no fancy cuts as far as the editing goes. All the technical departments allow the story to propagate properly.
The music is amazing. It may not have that “mass appeal” but the title song and “Maa” will make everyone cry.
To conclude TZP is a must see film. But it’s not for those who have the emotional range of a teaspoon…
DO WATCH IT…
